Pauliina Koskela

Assistant principal horn

Pauliina Koskela began horn studies at the Central New Zealand Music Institute in the teaching of Jukka Kasper. From there, continued to the Sibelius-Academy, where completed her A-diploma in 2005 led by Erja Joukamo-Ampuja. She completed her master’s degree in music a few years later. In 2000, she won the first prize in theFrench horn category in the Lahti National Wind Instrument Competition.

Koskela has worked as a freelance musician in Helsinki and for the Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra, the Lahti Symphony Orchestra, the National Opera and the Helsinki City Theatre. She began working at the Tampere Philharmonic in 2011.
