This concert is based on the very first concert performed by the Tampere Orchestra on January 12th 1930. It features lyrical orchestra pieces by Finnish composers that illustrate our national mindscape. The overture from the opera Alessando Stradella is a fine start to our 90th anniversary festivities.

Baritone legend Jorma Hynninen will perform a selection of traditional Finnish folk songs. The concert is conducted by Kimmo Tullila, Tampere Philharmonic Orchestra’s principal second violinist.

The concert ends approximately at 8.50 pm.
