Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (1756–1791): Piano Concerto no 20 D Minor KV 466
Ludwig Van Beethoven (1770–1827): Symphony no 4 op. 60
Mozart’s Piano Concerto no. 20, premiered some 230 years ago by the composer himself, was Dmitry Masleev’s claim to international fame as he prevailed in the Tchaikovksy piano competition in 2015. A favorite of Schumann’s, Mendelssohn’s and Berlioz’s, Beethoven’s Fourth Symphony is a genial work that is often unjustly overshadowed by the composer’s Third and Fifth Symphonies. The concert is conducted by charismatic leader Joshua Weilerstein.
