Jarkko Uimonen
Principal double bass
Jarkko Uimonen graduated with a Master of Music degree from the Sibelius Academy, where he studied under Olli Kosonen. He continued his studies in England at the Royal Northern College of Music, completing a Professional Performance diploma under Duncan McTier.
Uimonen has performed widely as a freelance orchestral and chamber musician at numerous music festivals and has worked with several Finnish orchestras. He has served as principal double bass of the Tampere Philharmonic since 2001. He is also a member of TampereRaw, an ensemble dedicated to contemporary music.
