Eri Ikeda

Born in Nagoya, Japan, bassoonist Eri Ikeda began her musical studies at Aichi University of the Arts before completing her advanced training at the Robert Schumann Hochschule in Düsseldorf, where she earned the Konzertexamen with distinction under the renowned pedagogue Prof. Gustavo Núñez.

She has performed with distinguished ensembles including the Malaysia Philharmonic, Nagoya Philharmonic, Finnish National Opera, Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra, and Tapiola Sinfonietta. From 2017 to 2025, she served as principal bassoonist of the Oulu Symphony Orchestra.

As a dedicated chamber musician, Eri has appeared at the Robert Schumann Music Festival, the International Double Reed Society (IDRS) in the United States, and on concert tours across Japan, Finland, France, and Switzerland.

Eri is a cat lover.
