Afternoon of Fauns takes you on a soaring journey. Expect a medley of highlights, from virtuosic solos and lush, romantic delicacies to an all-out disco finale to the beat of the ’90s.

An innovator of 20th-century music, Maurice Ravel dismissed his early, romantically effusive violin sonata as too conventional and left it unpublished. Swedish composer Madeleine Dring’s trio dances with neoclassical lightness, while Pulitzer Prize-winner Aaron Jay Kernis channels the pulsing energy of ’90s disco in 100 Greatest Dance Hits. Peter Maxwell Davies’s Sea Eagle sends a solitary French horn soaring on a breathtaking, virtuosic flight.
The concert is hosted by composer Minna Leinonen. The concert lasts about 2 hours including an intermission.
Single tickets and series tickets for the Afternoon of Fauns chamber music concerts will go on sale on Monday, May 26 at 9:00 AM.
Tickets: adults 18 € / pensioners 11 € / students, unemployed, conscripts and children under 18 yrs 7 €.
