Anni Tiainen-Hammo
Anni Tiainen-Hammo is originally from Hämeenlinna. Her studies at the Sibelius Academy with Pirkko Simojoki and Atso Lehto, as well as at the Hanns Eisler School of Music in Berlin under Pauline Sachse and Tabea Zimmermann, led to her Master of Music degree in 2011. Anni has appeared as a soloist with, among others, the Lahti Symphony Orchestra and the Hämeenlinna City Orchestra. She has worked in long-term substitute positions with the Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra and as principal viola of Pori Sinfonietta and has also served as an extra musician in several other Finnish orchestras.
Alongside her orchestral work, chamber music in various ensembles is an essential part of Anni’s musicianship. She is particularly drawn to the viola’s human, expressive sound and its role as the inner voice at the heart of the music. In her free time, Anni enjoys spending time in nature, good food, and crochet projects.
