Antti Hirvonen

Principal trombone

Antti Hirvonen graduated from the Sibelius Academy in 2005, studying under Teppo Alestalo and Simo Kanerva. He has furthered his education at the Malmö Academy of Music with Per Kristian Svensen, as well as at Codarts University of the Arts in Rotterdam, where his teachers included George Wiegel, Jörgen van Rijen, and Pierre Volders.

In addition to modern orchestral instruments, Antti Hirvonen performs on Renaissance, Baroque, and Classical trombones, as well as on original instruments from the early 20th century. Among other instruments, euphonium, bass trumpet, and valve trombone are also close to his heart.

Antti Hirvonen is pursuing studies in Administrative Sciences at Tampere University and vocal performance at the Tampere Conservatoire. He is a member of the chamber choir Tampere Cappella and has appeared with the chorus of Tampere Opera. In addition, he has performed as a soloist with TampereRaw and the Tampere Conservatoire Symphony Orchestra.
