Sebastian Fagerlund: Ignite
Ludwig van Beethoven: Symphony No. 9
In 1824, Ludwig van Beethoven made history with a symphony that culminates in the shared joy of all humanity. Though the dream of universal brotherhood remains unrealized, Ode to Joy is a powerful reminder of the utopia we must never stop pursuing. This season’s featured composer, Sebastian Fagerlund, made his breakthrough with the Teosto Prize-winning Ignite—an electrifying celebration of controlled chaos. Blending sci-fi soundscapes, medieval melodies, and exotic rhythms, it launches the listener on a thrilling journey to the eye of the storm—and back.
