19.00 - 21.00

Tampere-talo Oy, Yliopistonkatu 55, 33100 Tampere

Italian music specialist Nil Venditti brings a selection of timeless favorites to Tampere. The evening culminates in Roman Festivals, a carnival bursting with orchestral color and power.

Nil Venditti, conductor

Gioachino Rossini: The Barber of Seville Overture

W. A. Mozart: Symphony No. 29

Ottorino Respighi: Feste romane (Roman Festivals)

Mozart’s Symphony No. 29, composed in his teens, was a sophisticated and charming delight aimed at Viennese ears. Today it stands as an example of the galant style, each measure meant to entertain. Ottorino Respighi’s Roman Trilogy brings the Eternal City’s streets and history to life. Its finale, Feste Romane, is a dazzling musical fresco of gladiators, church processions and harvest dances in all the orchestra’s colors.
