György Ligeti‘s dreamy Lontano opens the concert, conducted by the American conductor talent Joshua Weilerstein, in honour of the composers 100th birthday. Béla Bartók's most popular and most performed work, the neoclassical Concerto for Orchestra, puts all the musicians of the Tampere Philharmonic in the spotlight at once. The winner of the 2022 Carl Nielsen International Competition, Alberto Navarra, brings his silvery sound to the interpretation of Mozart’s Flute Concerto in D Major.

The concert is part of the orchestra's subscriber series, which includes a Pre-concert talk (Teokset tutuiksi) at 6 pm and childcare (Lapsiparkki, 10€) at 6:45 pm.

The concert has an intermission. The concert ends around 8.45 pm.
