Friends Schumann and Mendelssohn were a power duo of the Romantic era. Mendelssohn’s Double Concerto features Tampere Chamber Music Festival artistic director Heini Kärkkäinen and renowned violinist Elina Vähälä. Mayer’s Beethoven-inspired First symphony is a lesser-known gem of the Romantic period. Conductor Leo McFall is an audience favorite at the Tampere Philharmonic.
