Olivier Messiaen: Les Offrandes Oubliées
Maurice Ravel: Piano Concerto in G major
Claude Debussy: Nocturnes

The turn of the 20th century and the early decades was the golden age of French music. The richly shimmering orchestral colours, airy chords, mystical orient and foggy landscapes were inspired by the impressionist painters. Details were left to the imagination, exemplified by Claude Debussy's Nocturnes, a play of light and shadow, and Olivier Messiaen's spiritual early work Les Offrandes Oubliées. Acclaimed for her elegant interpretations, Angela Hewitt is the soloist in Maurice Ravel's concerto, which draws on the joys of jazz.

The concert is part of the orchestra's subscriber series, which includes a Pre-concert talk (Teokset tutuiksi) at 6 p.m. and childcare (Lapsiparkki, 10 €) at 6:45 p.m.

The concert has an intermission. The concert ends around 8:45 p.m.
