Anna Thorvaldsdottir: Catamorphosis, Finnish premiere
Sergei Rachmaninoff: Piano Concerto No 2
Jean Sibelius: Symphony No 3

Icelandic composer Anna Thorvaldsdottir is one of the most original composers of our time and her orchestral works are among the most recognisable. Catamorphosis, which plunges into an inexplicable maelstrom of emotions, fully engages the essence of consciousness. Publicly shamed, Sergei Rachmaninoff, in a desperate spiral of depression, turned to hypnosis and was finally redeemed. His Second Piano Concerto, dedicated to his therapist, quickly propelled him to the top of the world and into the annals of history. The concerto's soloist is Maj Lind winner, the American pianist Mackenzie Melemed, dubbed "the miracle man".

The concert is part of the orchestra's subscriber series, which includes a Pre-concert talk (Teokset tutuiksi) at 6 p.m. and childcare (Lapsiparkki, 10 €) at 6:45 p.m.

The concert has an intermission. The concert ends around 9 p.m.

Tickets: Adults 30 € / pensioners 24 € / students, unemployed and conscripts 15 € / children under 17 years 10 €. You can buy tickets from the Tampere Hall ticket office, Aplodi and the Lippupiste online store (Lippupiste adds service fees and possible shipping fees to ticket prices).
