Santtu-Matias Rouvali will leave Tampere Philharmonic Orchestra at the close of the 22/23 season

Santtu-Matias Rouvali will end his longstanding tenure as Chief Conductor and Artistic Director of the Tampere Philharmonic Orchestra at the close of the 22/23 season. He will leave as one of the internationally most sought-after conductors.

“Santtu-Matias Rouvali joined the orchestra in autumn 2013, and it has been a privilege to have him at the helm for what will be a 10 year tenure. During these years the relationship between orchestra and audience has developed significantly. Besides high-quality concerts, tours and recordings have garnered praise. We are looking forward to continuing collaboration with this extraordinary conductor”, says Eija Oravuo, the General Manager of the Tampere Philharmonic Orchestra.

Tampere Philharmonic Orchestra will announce its season 2022–23 in May during Santtu-Matias Rouvali’s concert week.
