TPO opens the new year with Beethoven’s Fifth

29.9.2026 Tampere Philharmonic Orchestra launches 2027 with a New Year’s Concert at Tampere Hall on Saturday 9 January. The orchestra will be conducted by its Chief Conductor and Artistic Director Matthew Halls, with Grammy Award-winning violinist Augustin Hadelich, one of today’s most sought-after international soloists, performing Paganini’s demanding Violin Concerto No. 4.

Tampere Philharmonic Orchestra to record James MacMillan’s A European Requiem

22.9.2026 Tampere Philharmonic Orchestra will record Scottish composer Sir James MacMillan’s powerful choral work A European Requiem in October 2026. Chief Conductor Matthew Halls has a particularly close connection with the work, having conducted its world premiere in the United States in 2016.

10.9.2026 This September, Tampere Philharmonic Orchestra takes audiences on a musical journey from the rich landscapes of French Romanticism to the sparkling fantasy worlds of Benjamin Britten and Igor Stravinsky. The orchestra will be joined by an exceptional line-up of internationally acclaimed artists whose careers are rapidly on the rise, including pianist Aristo Sham.
