Professor Sakari Oramo, chief conductor of the BBC Symphony Orchestra, brings his students from the Sibelius Academy's conductor class to Tampere. The young talents will give their interpretations of timeless orchestral music classics, Richard Strauss' tragicomic poem and the first symphony of Jean Sibelius. The soloist in Kalevi Aho's recent concerto is Eero Saunamäki, guru of the recorder, who has enchanted Finns at the Presidential Independence Day reception.

There is no Pre-concert talk or childcare in this concert. The concert has an intermission and it ends around 8:45 p.m.
