James MacMillan: A European Requiem
The Catholic Requiem Mass has inspired great works offering solace for centuries, from Mozart to Verdi. Likewise, Scottish composer James MacMillan’s A European Requiem, completed in 2016, reaches directly into the deepest layers. The work is a sounding memorial to the history of the old continent and a profound homage to the ancient Requiem tradition. This moving choral piece is crowned by vocal soloists from the top ranks of the opera world. The concert will be recorded.
Cast change: Edward Grint replaces Andrew Foster-Williams as the baritone soloist.
The concert lasts approximately one hour. No intermission. The text of the work is based on the traditional Latin Requiem Mass.
Ticket sales begin on Wednesday, 2 September at 9 AM.

The concert will end at approximately 8 pm. There will be no intermission.
This concert is being recorded, so we kindly ask the audience to avoid making any unnecessary noise during the performance. You are welcome to take photographs during applause, but photography at other times, as well as video and audio recording, is not allowed. Please also make sure that your mobile phone is silent during the concert.
