James MacMillan: A European Requiem
The Catholic Requiem Mass has inspired great works offering solace for centuries, from Mozart to Verdi. Likewise, Scottish composer James MacMillan’s A European Requiem, completed in 2016, reaches directly into the deepest layers. The work is a sounding memorial to the history of the old continent and a profound homage to the ancient Requiem tradition. This moving choral piece is crowned by vocal soloists from the top ranks of the opera world. The concert will be recorded.
The concert lasts approximately one hour. No intermission.
Ticket sales begin on Wednesday, 2 September at 9 AM.
